A heated discussion over a Local Employee Apprenticeship Program was one of the main points of interest at the Whatcom County Council meeting on May 7, 2019.
The public meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Council members Barbara Brenner, Rud
Browne, Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd, Todd Donovan, Carol Frazey and Satpal Sidhu
were all present.

Councilmember Todd Donovan was absent.
Council approves additional funds that seek ways to deter fossil fuel production at Cherry Point Industries and an additional $927,000 for repairs to the Whatcom County Jail “doors.” Also approved, “April as Sikh Awareness Month,” showing their public support for the local Sikh religious group.
